Now I recommended to my sister in law the other day that if she wanted to lose a few pounds, she just do a fruit detox. It’s basically a week of eating unlimited fruit, but nothing else. It cleanses out your body, but it should only be done for a week. It was then said that I’m not enabling him to get energy drinks, because she has been bugging him to get off them anyway, and they’re unhealthy either way. But at the same point in time, he’s now upset that he only gets to eat fruit for the next week. They were originally going to go on a long term diet of only fruits, vegetables, and lean protein anyway. So it’s just one week before that. But I knew that he would try to cheat anyway. So I personally think it’s funny. Actually, I already caught him drinking an energy drink. But the way I figure it, in terms of motivation, you have to want it for yourself. He says he wants to diet from time to time, but he doesn’t really care, and therefore whatever people say to him, he’s not going to extremes whereas if somebody says things to certain other people, they might go to extremes. But I will be interested to be sure if she can actually make him diet in some ways, though I’m not sure how it will work out exactly speaking.
Married Duos
August 24th, 2009Plateau
August 22nd, 2009Obviously, if you have hit a plateau weight, your normal workout and diet routine is no longer working to show you results. Hopefully at this point, it’s not too hard to keep up, and it’s been a lifestyle change for you. But at this point, it’s time to mix things up a little. If you actually mix it up from the beginning, it works a little bit better. You can for example actually mix up your caloric intake to have more every 3 days or so, this so that your body does not get used to any particular caloric intake and therefore does not adjust to it. In addition, mix up your exercise routine for the same reason. Your body will not get used to this, and though adaptable, it’s not quite that adaptable in general terms. So if you have hit this point, try pressuring it a little more and mixing up your diet along the way so that you can keep it from going into plateau mode again. Mix up your exercise routine, and frankly keep hope in mind meaning that if you are just losing weight more slowly, you are not failing. You should be losing weight slowly rather than too quickly.
Loose Skin
August 21st, 2009In theory at least, skin is elastic. But it loses its elasticity of course as you age. So if you are losing significant amounts of weight, usually 100 pounds or more, your skin is going to sag to some degree. And if you are older when you do it, your skin is far more likely not to bounce back in general terms. Unfortunately, this is obviously not too appealing to women and men who want to lose weight, but they don’t want to look like their skin is falling off of them. A small amount of sag is not exactly acceptable, but you can handle it. But a large amount of sag is obviously something different. People tend to have a harder time with this concept. If you want to avoid it, the best thing to do is to use a lotion that increases elasticity as you actually lose weight so it has time to work gradually along the way instead of having to treat a later existing problem. However, otherwise, you will just be counting your luck and trying your hand at things in general. Frankly, I wouldn’t particularly suggest testing your luck. Its chances of coming out negatively are relatively considerable. However, you can definitely find something that is more of a sure bet.
A Stomach Virus
August 20th, 2009Now if you have a serious stomach virus, I can guarantee that you are going to lose weight. In one case, and this was a really extreme case, over the course of a few hours, he actually lost about 35 pounds. He gained it all back within a couple weeks, because basically he was on the toilet and otherwise throwing up simultaneously for a few hours strait, which severely dehydrated him among other things, and it is not a healthy way to go or a substantial way to go in terms of actually keeping the weight off, not that it wasn’t scary to look at him. He didn’t need to lose weight and really couldn’t afford to lose weight in the first place. But it’s truly amazing how much he actually had stored up in his body to lose at that point as far as things that he could lose in that way rather than having to burn off fat or otherwise. The body is made up mostly of water and there’s stored options, so it really shouldn’t be that big of a surprise. But that is something that I thought about the other way, and I realized that there are actually people out there desperate enough to lose even temporary weight that they would actually consider putting themselves through something like that to get it.
Gastric Bypass In Mexico
August 6th, 2009I’m all about saving money, but seriously? There are some people going to Mexico to get gastric bypass surgery. I mean I know you can get a surgery anywhere, but come on! There are people who go for lifesaving surgeries and treatments for things like cancer in foreign countries, because American doctors have apparently told them it’s terminal and they are hoping for that one last chance. They always turn out to be scams. So far there have been no exceptions to this. As far as getting a gastric bypass in Mexico, it’s cheaper yes. It is definitely cheaper. But frankly, it’s not worth it. This particular statement comes from a man who lives in Cabo San Lucas. Cabo San Lucas is actually one of the more prestigious and well off areas of Mexico. He is not a citizen, he just happens to live there to fish and run his own business basically taking tourists out on a fishing boat. But when thinking about medical things he said, “If I have a heart attack, I know I’m just dying. The medical care around here isn’t that great, and they don’t necessarily know all that much about things like dealing with an immediate heart attack.” He wasn’t too worried about it, because I honestly don’t think he would care. It’s just a reality he’s accepted, even though he technically could move to a place with better medical availability. But if they can’t handle that, this coming from a man who’s lived there for the past 20 years, how do you really expect them to handle a gastric bypass surgery and all its possible complications.
The Benefits Of Fasting
July 30th, 2009Fasting has long been known to be beneficial to the systems. It has been part of certain cultures for years such as the Indian culture to specifically involve oneself in “godly activities.” Generally speaking, unless it’s children under the age of 10, they fast at least once every 15 days. It’s usually only for a 24 hour period of time at most. The sick and old are also exempt from this rule. However, you can fast from just food or liquid as well. Some only consume liquids such as milk, water, tender coconut, or butter milk. Some also allow you to consume fruit or other now recognized negative calorie food. Some have also used salt and other spices. But despite their cultural implications, some have also found that fasting has some health benefits that they may have not realized. It can benefit the physical, physiological, and mental health of individuals in general. It improves the immunity of the system in general and brings about rapid detoxification of the body, which is without question a good thing. It improves energy afterwards and of course, it requires self control to some degree. It can beat insomnia, and it can end certain addictions to a certain degree. All of these things will help you to improve your health and see the benefits of fasting. Just don’t do it too long and develop an eating disorder.
Throw Like A Girl
July 16th, 2009Where did the concept or statement of “you throw like a girl” come from? I mean I’ve seen just as many guys who can’t throw a ball as girls. It has something to do with weight and muscle and all that. I mean it’s about technique too. But at the same point in time, if you haven’t worked out and put the core effort into certain areas, you aren’t going to get that powerful throw no matter what technique you may have. For example, the press’ recent thing is that Obama apparently throws like a girl at some baseball thing. I’ve seen a video of him shooting hoops with a college basketball team, and he certainly doesn’t “shoot like a girl.” It’s sad that we’re even focusing on the idea that he can’t throw a ball properly anyway. But I mean honestly, why is it that we think that’s throwing like a girl instead of throwing like a boy. Granted, most sports at least in the professional arena have been at least first spearheaded by men, partly because men are willing to participate in the workouts involved to strengthen that particular area as well as the core to get that right throw. But at the same point in time, women are perfectly capable of doing the same workouts, learning the same skills, and essentially speaking performing.
Negative Calorie Dieting
July 8th, 2009Does negative calorie dieting really work? That is the question in many minds. Negative calorie foods are essentially those that take more energy for the body to digest than the body actually gets from them. They are generally also nutrient dense foods. But not all negative calorie foods are nutrient dense foods and likewise not all nutrient dense foods are negative calorie foods. But essentially speaking, by doing this, whether you exercise or otherwise or not, you are burning more calories than you are taking in, therefore offsetting the very basic and first rule of dieting. However, if you look into the reality of things, in order to really lose weight and build muscle, you need exercise. Moreover, you need good fats and other things these foods, while rich in vitamins and minerals generally speaking, don’t provide. So your whole diet should not actually consist of them. But if you do want to implement them in as part of a healthy diet, you can use vegetables, asparagus, beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, peppers, cress, cucumbers, dandelions, endive, fennel, garlic, green beans, and lettuce just to name a few. Many fruits are also included in this listing, and you can of course get even greater health benefits than just weight loss by putting the appropriate amounts into your diet.
Exercises For Fat Burning
July 6th, 2009If you want to lose weight, you should use a healthy balance of different kinds of exercise. For example, if you lift weights all the time, you may build muscle. But that muscle will be hidden under a layer of fat thick or thin. So it’s not exactly the results you want. It should definitely be an integral part of your workout, and for lean muscle, of course use smaller weights. Just don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Instead, try combining this with aerobic or cardio workouts. These burn more fat, especially in aerobic stances, because you are burning calories at a different rate than you would by sprinting for example, and you burn more fat in those calories. So if you follow weight training with cardio, you get better results. In addition, if you participate in circuit training, which is essentially jumping back and forth between different muscle groups, you give each time to recover and therefore give you greater results. All of these can help you to burn more fat while building more muscle to maintain your results for a longer period of time. It just depends on you as far as getting all the results you want instead of just some of them.
Pinnothin
July 3rd, 2009If you’ve ever wanted a great appetite suppressant, one of the lesser known supplements is known as the Korean pine nut. It has also been known as Pinnothin in its patented form, and with this a new study from England reports that it may suppress appetite, if used in doses of 3000mg or more generally speaking. However, more obviously provides greater results.
With this particular supplement, it uses parts known as CCK and GLP-1. It exerts satiating effects, and it has been known to work within just 30 minutes for most individuals. There are even those that would claim that it could suppress 60% of appetite for up to 4 hours at a time.
The Korean pine nut is essentially a type of polyunsaturated fatty acid, and it has been used in our diets since before ancient Greek and Roman times. They compared it with an olive placebo, and they have since conducted multiple randomized, double blind, cross over studies on both men and women alike. Since then, it was presented at the American Physiological Society session at Experimental Biology 2006. They have reported multiple success reports, and since then Pinnothin has exploded in terms of it steadily growing popularity.
